Leap Year Day 2012

Google celebrated this year's leap year day with a special 'google doodle' containing operatic frogs since it is also the 220th anniversary of Gioachino Rossini's birth.

Here is a selection of Rossini's 'L'Italiana in Algeri' with the Russian 'bel canto' tenor Maxim Mironov in an outstanding performance.  Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Aix en Provence, Festival 2006.
