Since the late 50's the subject of an alien invasion as been the fodder for countless film and TV productions. Most people, and Americans especially, enjoy scaring the bejessus out of themselves. Even the evening news broadcasts get in on the entertainment value with the latest 'UFO' nonsense. A recent feature on the Discovery Channel was 'Alien Invasion, after a simiilar 'alien invasion' program aired on the National Geographic Channel. Neither was very convincing, but no doubt appealed to the general populace.
